Ford Youth World Is Underway
Exhibitors at the 2020 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show shined their boots and dusted off their hats for the first day of competition at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. Classes began at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, in the Jim Norick Arena with performance halter geldings.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to give competitors the chance to experience the Ford Youth World in as safe of an environment as possible, as they compete for top honors in Level 3, Adequan® Level 2 and Nutrena Level 1 classes,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “Although this show season has been different than others due to the coronavirus pandemic, we look forward to hosting an event where AQHYA members can do what they love, show their American Quarter Horses, while still meeting health protocols put in place by local authorities.”
Ford Youth World Protocols
AQHA has implemented new guidelines and procedures to protect the health and safety of exhibitors and attendees during the 2020 Ford Youth World. Review the Ford Youth World Health Protocols before arriving in Oklahoma City. As a reminder, the facility is not open to the general public during the show; however, exhibitors and their connections may still attend.
Special Events and Contests
Contests held at the 2020 Ford Youth World have been modified, due to new guidelines and health protocols. If you are not attending the Ford Youth World, there are still a variety of digital events and activities you can tune in to watch. The 2020 Parade of Teams video will premiere at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, to recognize the hard work and dedication of AQHYA members. Additionally, the Nutrena Ride the Pattern clinics, presented by AQHA Professional Horsemen, will be live streamed for exhibitors to watch on Facebook Live and www.aqha.com/youthworld throughout the show. To show your support for the AQHA Professional Horsemen, donations can be made online to support the Professional Horsemen Crisis Fund. Nutrena will graciously match the donations made during the Ford Youth World, dollar for dollar.
