San Lencho, a homebred son of world champion Apollitical Jess racing for Rogelio Marquez Jr. of Rosenberg, Texas, drew post 10 for Saturday's 350-yard, $1,207,640 Heritage Place Futurity (G1) at Remington Park.
San Lencho has won both of his races, including the last of 12 trials on May 15 (the second day of trials), and he has earned $19,647. The fastest overall qualifier, the sorrel colt will be ridden by Juan Pulido for trainer Waylan Melton.
Melton also qualified two other Heritage Place Futurity finalists, Rito Sosa's PYC Legacy and Josefina Guzman's Flyn Electric Cowboy.
Trainer Jason Olmstead will send out three Heritage Place Futurity qualifiers, including third-fastest overall qualifier Midnight Politics. A homebred Apollitical Jess gelding owned by Brenda Reiswig, Midnight Politics has banked $14,387 from two outs.
The fastest qualifier from the first date of trials, May 12, MFS Cheerio broke his maiden with a dominating 2-3/4 lengths win in that date's 11th of 12 trials.
