Whitmire Ranch's Whistle Stop Cafe, a gray daughter of Freighttrain B and a $42,000 purchase at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, was a prompt 3-1 favorite in Saturday's $100,000 Heritage Place Juvenile Stakes at Remington Park.

Ridden by Ricky Ramirez for trainer Blane Wood, Whistle Stop Cafe went 350 yards in :17.616, and her margin of victory was a nose from 9-1 longshot Diane To Be A Hero. The filly banked $26,880 from her second win in as many outs.

Whistle Stop Cafe was bred in Texas by Bobby D. Cox. The filly's dam, the winning homebred Mr Jess Perry mare Sinuous, finished second in the 2010 Dash For Cash Derby (G2) at Lone Star Park.  Whistle Stop Cafe's second dam, the Runaway Winner mare No Fees, won all six of her races from 2003-04, including the '03 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Sam Houston Race Park.

Whistle Stop Cafe's first stakes victory pushed her bankroll to $35,718.

Apollitical Bird ran third, a neck behind Whistle Stop Cafe. B Boujee, DF Fabulous Jet, Charlenas Relentless, Jmonecoronadobarbie, Tres Evidence, and EC Ante Up completed the order of finish.
