Horse-Showing Superhorse

After some stiff competition, Snap Krackle Pop, owned by Twylla Lynn Brown, was crowned the 2015 Farnam Superhorse in Oklahoma City. However, not only did she win the prestigious Farnam title, the grey mare was also the 2015 Farnam All-Around Junior Horse.

“It was a big surprise to come out on top and win the 2015 [Farnam] Superhorse,” Twylla recalls, “When we realized we were within reach of winning, the nerves and excitement set in, but trainer Blake Weis and Snap Krackle Pop are so in tune with each other they made it look easy.”

In order to qualify, contenders must compete in three or more Level 3 events in three categories during the show. The Farnam Superhorse receives $25,000, $2000 in Farnam products, an original Lisa Perry bronze and a rose bouquet.

Snap Krackle Pop, who is by RL Best of Sudden and out of Brandys Silver Sheik, competed in four events: junior western riding, junior trail, junior western pleasure and performance halter mares. She and her rider, Blake Weis, took home the world champion title in both junior western riding and junior trail, as well as placing in her other events, for a total of 37 points.

“It’s very exciting to hear your number in first place because you know there are many great horses in the class,” Twylla says, “Winning was very special and we will always remember that day.”

Following her Farnam Superhorse win, Snap Krackle Pop was piloted by two-year-old Mason Hulbert in a leadline class at the Minnesota Quarter Horse Association’s Corporate Challenge.

Accompanied by her trainer, AQHA Professional Horseman Blake Weis, “Brandi” stepped up to the challenge with grace and care. Following the class, all that Mason could muster was, “I ride the Superhorse!”

This just proves that Snap Krackle Pop is a Superhorse not only under the guidance of her trainer, but also the next generation of AQHA members.

The 2015 Reserve Farnam Superhorse was DT Sugar Chex Whiz, owned by Dixon Flowers Quarter Horses and shown by AQHA Professional Horseman J.D. Yates. The Reserve Farnam Superhorse received a prize package of $10,000 plus $2,000 in Farnam products.
