COVID-19 compliance is more important now than ever in order to continue to safely host this year’s show.

The American Quarter Horse Association was notified today of an exhibitor who tested positive after leaving Oklahoma City earlier this week. The individual left the fairgrounds on Monday, prior to experiencing symptoms and will not return to the show.

“Our thoughts are with them during this time, and we hope for continued recovery,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “AQHA is committed to transparency, especially during this pandemic, and the Association will continue to provide timely updates as new information arises.”

As a reminder, COVID-19 compliance is more important now than ever in order to continue to safely host this year’s Farnam AQHA World Championship Show; AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan); Adequan® Level 2 Championships; Nutrena Level 1 Championships; and AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals.

View the event health protocols and additional COVID-19 resources. As a reminder, attendees are required to complete a COVID-19 Health Acknowledgement and Liability Waiver. By signing the waiver, attendees agree to adhere to the event health protocols, including wearing facial protection, and understand the potential risk of being exposed.

AQHA and OKC Fairgrounds staff are working diligently to follow and complete the safety protocols when notified of a positive case during the show. In the event of a positive case, individuals and their connections will be required to leave the fairgrounds immediately and will not be allowed on the premises during the rest of the show; stalling areas will be disinfected; and contact tracing will be completed. Once contact tracing is completed, individuals who are exposed will be notified directly. Adhering to local mandates is a critical element for the show to continue.

If you test positive for COVID-19 during the show, please contact show management immediately at 404-867-2058 or 614-207-3152.

It is imperative to recognize there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any setting where people are present.

We appreciate your caution and assistance with providing a safe environment to host a successful Farnam and Adequan® AQHA World.
