The field is set for the June 16, $130,713 John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge (G3) at Sam Houston Race Park, and Leavinematthebar is the fastest qualifier from six trials contested on Thursday.

Trained by Brian Stroud for owners James Hrabovsky and Joye Nalls, Leavinematthebar broke his maiden with a neck victory in the fifth 350-yard heat while covering the distance in :17.822. Claudio Aguilar rode the gelded son of the Concord Point (TB) stallion Power Jam (TB), who scored his first win in two outs.

Leavinematthebar was bred in Texas by his owners. The gelding is out of Leaving In Your Eyes, a 9-year-old daughter of champion Stoli, and his maiden win pushed his earnings to $11,503.

Second-fastest qualifier Capo On Fire broke his maiden with a neck victory in his trial. Ridden by H. Javier Hernandez for owner Luz Hernandez and trainer Jailinne Venzor, the Capo de Capi gelding stopped the timer in :17.872 while posting his first win in four starts.

Capo On Fire was bred in Oklahoma by Rick and Connie Dickson. He is out of Caliente Kate, a winning Shazoom mare and finalist in the 2010 Gillespie County Fair (G3) and Evangeline Downs futurities.

Capo On Fire has banked $19,579, and he was a finalist in the March 19, 300-yard Oklahoma Futurity (G2) at Remington Park.
