Karen Barnhart Joins AQHA Team

Karen Barnhart hired as an advertising representative for the American Quarter Horse Association.

The American Quarter Horse Association welcomes Karen Barnhart of Hesston, Kansas, as an advertising representative for the Association and The American Quarter Horse Journal. Barnhart began her role with AQHA on August 3.

As an AQHA advertising representative, Barnhart works directly with AQHA media advertisers, including AQHA publications and digital properties, such as QStallions. She will also consult with advertisers in composing advertisements and setting up complete advertising programs, in addition to serving as a public relations liaison for AQHA media items with advertisers and industry figures on farms, ranches, shows, sales and additional events.

“We are excited to add Karen to the Association’s talented team,” said Craig Huffhines, AQHA executive vice president. “She is an accomplished sales leader in the equine industry, and we look forward to her assisting our advertisers and sponsors with promoting their businesses, ranches and farms with AQHA.”

Barnhart boasts a striking resume, which includes working for MCC Magazines LLC, where she assisted with print and digital sales for Quarter Horse News, QHN Stallion Register, Barrel Horse News, Reined Cow Horse News and Western Horseman. She was also an account manager at GateHorse Media, and regional sales manager for American Cowboy Magazine.

Barnhart received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Fort Hays State University.
