The American Quarter Horse Association kicks off the largest Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show in the Association’s history! Classes began with performance halter geldings at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, in the Jim Norick Arena at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. The Performance Arena started with Level 2 Showmanship at 10 a.m.

“We are excited to host the largest Ford Youth World in the Association’s history with more than 5,800 entries and 284 first-time exhibitors,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “We are grateful to welcome our AQHYA members with their American Quarter Horses, and wish them the best of luck as we make history together and they compete for top honors in Level 3, Adequan® Level 2 and Nutrena Level 1 classes.”

Special Events and Contests
American Quarter Horse Youth Association members are also participating in contests outside of the arena at the Ford Youth World. Through speech, art and photo, scrapbook, Justin boots and Wrangler jeans, stall decorating, judging and team spirit contests, members are increasing their equine knowledge, as well as developing skills that will last a lifetime.

The 2021 recipient of the Youth Activities Scholarship will be named during the show. This unique scholarship is awarded to a youth member in their last year of eligibility based on their application and competition at the Ford Youth World.

The ever-popular Parade of Teams is slated for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, to recognize the hard work and dedication of AQHYA members from around the world.

Additionally, the free Nutrena Ride the Pattern clinics, presented by AQHA Professional Horsemen, will be live-streamed for exhibitors to watch on Facebook throughout the show. To show your support for the AQHA Professional Horsemen, gifts can be made online to support the AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Endowment. Nutrena will graciously match the donations made during the Ford Youth World, dollar for dollar.
