Fastest qualifier Apollitical Bug breaks her maiden in the seventh of 15 heats at Delta Downs.

Apollitical Bug, a homebred daughter of Apollitical Blood owned and trained by Mardonio Flores Jr., broke her maiden in the seventh of 15 350-yard Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1) trials for Louisiana-bred juveniles at Delta Downs.

Apollitical Bug defeated non-qualifier Man On The Beach by a clear 2 1/2 lengths in :17.339. Noe Castaneda rode the filly, who was winning for the first time in three starts.

Apollitical Bug is out of Tinys First Bug, a winning daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Tinys First Corona. The filly has earned $11,220 while racing exclusively at Delta Downs.

Second-fastest qualifier Runaway Second Down won the sixth trial in :17.503. Antonio Alberto rode the Sir Runaway Dash gelding for owners  Eulalio Argote and Victor Alvarado, and trainer Robi Meche.

Runaway Second Down was bred by Grant Farms LLC, and he was an $80,000 buy at last year's Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale.
