Los Alamitos Race Course will host a special post-position draw at approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8 for the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity and Grade 1 Champion of Champions. The draw will take place in the Finish Line Room at Los Alamitos and will be televised nationally on TVG.

Media members, horsemen and the general public are invited to attend the draw festivities. Connections of each of the horses competing in the Los Alamitos Two Million and Champions of Champions will be able to select their post position based on a random draw that will be conducted earlier in the week. Ed Burgart’s morning line for the December 11 Champion of Champions and December 12 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity will also be announced during the show.

The Champion of Champions will be headed by defending winner Apollitical Pence for owner Dunn Ranch. Apollitical Pence will look to become the first repeat winner of the Champion of Champions since SLM Big Daddy in 1997-98.  Rosenthal Ranch’s Powerful Favorite, winner of the Robert Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship, Ed Allred’s Circle City and Dutch Masters III’s Flash Bak are among the other top Grade 1 winners in this race. Flash Bak is only the third horse to start for Dutch Masters III in the Champion of Champions.

The Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity will be headed by Rosenthal Ranch’s  fastest qualifier Bomb Cyclone, who is a full-brother to Powerful Favorite. Dunn Ranch’s Whizkey Glasses posted the second fastest time in the trials and two races ago he won the Golden State Million Futurity. Other top juveniles in action will include PCQHRA Breeders Futurity winner Favorite Honey and Governor’s Cup Futurity runner-up Watch Out.
