Los Alamitos changes Friday post time to 5 p.m.

Los Alamitos Race Course will feature a new earlier post time on Fridays effective immediately. First post on Friday, January 17, will be at 5 p.m. The first race on Fridays will now be held approximately 30 minutes after the final daytime California Thoroughbred race. The Early Pick Four will get started with the opening race of the card at 5 p.m. The Late Pick Four sequence will consists of the final four races on the card. 

Los Alamitos kicked off its 70th year of live racing at the Cypress oval with an earlier Friday post time on December 26. The results were positive, as it resulted in the highest handle for a Friday card this season. As usual, TVG will provide live coverage of the entire Los Alamitos racing program. It’s also a big weekend of racing at Los Alamitos, as Saturday’s card will feature trials to the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Derby and Sunday’s card will feature trials to the Grade 1 Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship. Here’s a list of possible starters for this weekend’s trials. 

Possible starters in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Derby include top horses like Cartel Jess Rockin, Circle City, Javelina Cantina,
Jess Tellin Tales, JR Prissys Blood, Just Be Real, Mental Error, Old School Icon, Runforyourlife, Sass Go Blue, Sacred Nation, Tell Cartel and  Up And Coming. 

Possible starters in the Grade 1 Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship trials include top horses like Bail Czech, BOS Times Machine, Call Me Cole, Corona Jumpin MRL, Eagles Fly Higher, Favorite Motion, He Looks Hot, Hotstepper, Jess Macho Corona,  Jess My Kiss, Katies Easy Moves, Powerful Favorite and Twisted Sifter.
