Down South Racing LLC's TF Shez Jess Dashin broke Delta Downs' 330-yard track record in Friday's $339,931 Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred 2-year-old fillies.

Ridden by Everardo Rodriguez and sent to post as the 2-1 second choice in a field of nine, TF Shez Jess Dashin defeated Fast Dash Hondo Cat by three-quarters of a length in :16.174, earning a 113 speed index and breaking the previous track record of :16.337 set by Bradys March Madness in 2013 Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futurity (RG2). Ned Goutierrez III saddled the gray daughter of the First Down Dash stallion Sir Runaway Dash.

TF Shez Jess Dashin was bred by Tate Farms, and she was a $38,000 buy at last year's Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale. The filly is out of Jess Ought To Go Now, a daughter of 1994 champion 2-year-old Mr Jess Perry, and she set the fifth-fastest Lassie Futurity qualifying time with her victory in the 12th of 15 trials on April 26.

All told, TF Shez Jess Dashin has won three of four starts, and the $169,965 winner's share of the purse from her first stakes score pushed her bankroll to $232,666. The filly's resume includes a second-place finish in the March 16, 300-yard Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs.

Lifeinthefastlanes ran third, a head behind runner-up Fast Dash Hondo Cat, and was followed by 2-1 favorite HH Gailforce, fastest qualifier Shes A Cartel, Ms Diamond Prize, Boobookitty, Blues Forrtune, and Angel Tough. Ninth-fastest qualifier Fast Prize Jessica was scratched at the gate.
