San Lorenzo Blood, an undefeated daughter of champion Apollitical Blood racing for Rogelio Marquez Jr., is one of 10 state-bred 2-year-old fillies entered back in Friday's 330-yard, $327,272 Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futuriy (RG2) at Delta Downs.
The fastest overall qualifier from 16 trials run May 3-4, San Lorenzo Blood has won all three of her starts -- including the 300-yard, $365,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs in March -- and she has earned $173,886. The filly was purchased by Marquez for $70,000 at last year's Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale.
San Lorenzo Blood drew post 5 and will be ridden by Rolando Cabrera for trainer Jesus M. Marquez.
Other contenders include Blackmon Quarter Horses' Eyesa Just Pretty. A $13,000 buy at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale, the daughter of champion Carters Cartel has banked $71,664 from three outs, and she ran second, 1 1/2 lengths behind San Lorenzo Blood, in the Mardi Gras Futurity.
Eyesa Just Pretty drew post 2 and will be ridden by Sabino Reyes for trainer Janessa Muniz.
