Double Eagle Ranch's DJs Winner, a homebred 4-year-old daughter of Winners Version trained by Toby Keeton, earned her first stakes victory in Saturday's $100,000 Mesilla Valley Speed Handicap (RG2) for New Mexico-breds at Sunland Park.

Ridden by Noe Garcia Jr. and sent to post as the 9-2 second choice in the field of 10, DJs Winner defeated 12-1 longshot Woodys Copy Cat by a neck while making her 350-yard trip in :17.269. The bay mare earned a 96 speed index and the $60,000 winner's share of the purse.

DJs Winner was coming off of a third-place finish in the 400-yard, $100,000 Lou Wooten/Sydney Valentini Handicap (RG2) at Sunland Park on January 11.  Campaigned exclusively in New Mexico, the mare has won four of 13 starts and has banked $124,660, and she was a finalist in last year's Zia Derby (RG2) at Ruidoso Downs.

Marcus Medallion ran third, a nose behind Woodys Copy Cat, and was followed by CD Mamas Boy, 2-1 favorite Cat Daddys Lil Girl, Rime Chimes, Magnifico Dragon, No Mires A La Luna, Jess A Satin Flash, and Freedom Flash.
