Mr Jess Perry Stakes Preview

RF Fast N Dash, a 4-year-old One Sweet Jess gelding owned by CB Racing Stables, will make his season debut in Saturday's 350-yard, $25,000 Mr Jess Perry Stakes (R) for state-breds at Louisiana Downs.

A $10,000 claim by his current connections at Delta Downs on August 20, RF Fast N Dash has won all three of his starts since, and he ended his sophomore campaign with a half-length victory in the December 17, $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Derby (RG3) at Evangeline Downs. The gelding drew post 6 and will be ridden by Arturo Alvarez for trainer Xavier Scott.

Other contenders include Rogelio Marquez Jr.'s Hezaa Fast Boy, a 6-year-old son of Heza Fast Dash and champion Brenda Beautiful who won three stakes last season, including the 440-yard, $70,000 Louisiana Classic Stakes (RG2) at Delta Downs. The bay gelding drew the rail post and will be ridden by Rolando Cabrera for trainer Jesus Marquez.
