2022 has hardly started and the European all-around industry already has to mourn a terrible loss. Andrea Schmid's beloved My Rods Chipped has passed away due to an injury. The 2005 AQHA stallion was not only a great show horse but contributed a lot of great all-around horses to the European industry.The black stallion was by Radical Rodder and out of a Zips Chocolate Chips mare – exactly what they were looking for when they searched for a stud colt back in the States in 2006, Andrea told us. “The Radical Rodder and Zips Chocolate Chips cross was quite popular and Radical Rodder has been the leading sire in open and amateur events for many years.” What convinced her to buy the colt at the AQHA World Show sale in 2006 was the fact that he hadn't been started under saddle yet - contrary to many other yearlings.
