PV Quarter Horse Farms LLC's Political Candyhouse on Saturday set the fastest qualifying time to the July 7, $156,000 Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity at Canterbury Park.

One of five qualifiers from the barn of trainer Clint Crawford, Political Candyhouse won the third of six 350-yard trials by a head from second-fastest qualifier Left Town. The homebred Apollitical Jess gelding covered 350 yards in :17.682 while posting his third win in as many starts. Cody Smith rode Political Candyhouse.

Political Candyhouse won both of his outs at Remington Park, including a 350-yard Heritage Place Futurity (G1) trial on May 10.

Crawford prepped the five fastest qualifiers, including Left Town. A California-bred Kiddy Up gelding owned by Renee Wilson, Left Town tripped the timer in :17.709 under jockey Josh Romero.

Romero also rode third-fastest qualifier Royal Cash Flash to a three-quarter length victory in the sixth heat. Racing for Brenda Reiswig, the homebred daughter of champion First Moonflash was a prompt 7-10 favorite while making her 350-yard trip in :17.833.
