Los Alamitos
JR Prissys Blood broke sharply from post 3 and sprinted to a wire-to-wire victory in Saturday's $25,000 Corona Chick Handicap for 2-year-olds.

Prepped by Monty Arrossa for owner JR Stables, JR Prissys Blood went 400 yards in :19.910 while defeating Old School Icon by a short nose. Jesus Valenzuela rode the homebred gray daughter of Apollitical Blood.

JR Prissys Blood is out of Prissy B Panther, a winning daughter of champion Panther Mountain who ran second in the 2007 Sunland Park Winter Futurity (G2) in New Mexico. Raced at this track and the Intermountain region, the filly has won four of seven starts, including the June 29, $99,681 Cowboy State Futurity at Energy Downs in Wyoming, and the $13,750 winner's share of the purse from her second stakes victory pushed her earnings to $57,721.

Zoom On Jess finished third and was followed by John Carter Cash, Royally Significant, CM Singing The Blues, and Kick It Papa Joe.
