Second-fastest qualifier Illegal Moonflash rallied to win Monday's 350-yard, $179,896 Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Mystery Futurity (RG2) for state-bred 2-year-olds at Will Rogers Downs.

Trained by Eddie Willis for owners Jeff Carter and Justin Massey, Illegal Moonflash defeated Whole Lota Blue by a neck in :17.798. Jimmy Brooks rode the bay son of champion First Moonflash.

Illegal Moonflash was bred by Reliance Ranches LLC. The gelding is out of Illegal Fireworks, a daughter of the First Down Dash stallion Walk Thru Fire who won the 2011 Junos Request Stakes (G3) at Remington Park and was a finalist in the 2009 Texas Classic Futurity (G1) and '10 Texas Classic Derby (G1).

A $45,000 purchase at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, three of eight races, and the $72,458 winner's share of the purse from his first stakes win pushed the gelding's bankroll to $96,224.

Sir James ran third and was followed by Snow Cloud Cartel, El Relentless Speed, Davila, fastest qualifier Biden R Time, Bolt Of Action V, Double Didget, and Pevs Cherokee Kid.
