Francisco Javier Garza’s homebred Jess Telling Beau has been installed as the 5-2 morning line choice in Saturday’s $194,020 Old South Futurity at Delta Downs. The Tell Cartel filly will break from post 6 with Nestor Duran riding for trainer Patrick Clemons.

Texas-bred Jess Telling Beau is coming off an impressive victory in her 330-yard trial on April 26 when she surged late to win by three-quarters of a length with a time of :16.791. The filly finished third in her only other start, a trial to the West Texas Futurity (G2) at Sunland Park. She is out of the stakes-placed Apollitical Jess mare Jess Jumpn Beau.

Sunset Well Service Inc.’s Shot Of Takillya brings graded stakes experience to the field after finishing fifth in the Louisiana Downs Futurity (G2) and winning a trial for that race. The colt by the Corona Cartel stallion Muddy Waters also won his Old South trial as the odds-on favorite with a time of :16.948. He drew post 4 with Raul Hernandez Jr. set to ride for trainer Jorge Valenzuela.

Coronados Imagine, who ran fourth in front of Shot Of Takillya in the Louisiana Downs Futurity, will break from just inside that rival with Claudio Aguilar up for trainer Saul Ramirez Jr. and owner Jose Ramos. The Corona Cartel gelding ran third in his trial behind fastest qualifier Jess Telling Beau.

The Old South Futurity is set as race 8 on the card with a scheduled post time of 9:17 p.m. CDT.
