“After an unprecedented year in 2020, AQHA is proud to once again host the ranch horse championship series in June at Lazy E,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “We along with so many members were disappointed when last year’s event was cancelled because we knew how much our exhibitors were looking forward to competing. We are excited to welcome all exhibitors back to this year’s show, since traditional qualifying requirements were waived as a result of the pandemic’s impact on qualifying opportunities. If you’ve ever wanted to compete at this ranch horse mega-show, now is your chance to give it a try and make a run at an estimated $250,000 in purse and prizes, along with the opportunity to take home the coveted gold globe.”
$20,000 John Deere VRH Double-Qualifying Incentive
Even though traditional qualifying requirements were waived, AQHA is still offering the $20,000 John Deere VRH Double-Qualifying Incentive, a special side pot available only to Versatility Ranch Horse competitors who qualified for the 2020 AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse World Championships and who also reach the same qualifying threshold for the 2021 AQHA VRH World. The John Deere Double-Qualifying Incentive offers a total side pot of $20,000 to the highest-placing 2020 and 2021 qualifiers in each of six all-around divisions who compete at the 2021 AQHA VRH World. Rookie amateur and Rookie youth classes are not eligible for the John Deere VRH Double-Qualifying Incentive since those divisions are new in 2021.
