Open Derby at NRCHA Celebration of Champions

Consistency was the name of the game when Shining CD Light marked a 220.5 out of the herd, 221 in the rein work and 220.5 down the fence to earn the open derby championship February 18 at the 2019 National Reined Cow Horse Association Celebration of Champions in Fort Worth, Texas.

NRCHA $2 million rider Corey Cushing piloted Shining CD Light to the win, earning $24,254.64 for owner Ophir Creek Stables. 

Shining CD Light is a 2014 sorrel stallion by $5 million sire CD Lights and out of Jennys Spark, a Shining Spark daughter. Jennys Spark’s lifetime earnings total $17,700 and her three money earners have earned $146,079.
