Wascallywittlewabbit led at every call en route to a half-length victory in Thursday's 870-yard, $50,880 Pauls Valley Stakes (G2) at Remington Park.

Prepped by Mike Joiner for owner Rogers Farms of Clint, Texas, Wascallywittlewabbit stopped the timer in :45.498 under jockey Benito Baca. The 6-year-old bay gelding earned $29,892 from his third stakes win and first graded stakes score.

Wascallywittlewabbit was bred in New Mexico by Mike Weatherly, and he was coming off of a fourth-place finish in his first-ever start at Remington Park, an 870-yard allowance-optional claimer ($20,000) on March 18. The gelding has won seven of 17 races and has banked $129,215, and his six wins in 11 outs at the 870 trip include last year's Zia 870 Championship (R) and Bill Reed Memorial Stakes, both at Ruidoso Downs.

Wascallywittlerabbit was sent to post at odds of 9-1 and returned a $21 win mutuel. Why Buy The Cow finished second and was followed by 2-1 favorite Ms Esther, Higher Flyin Eagle, Holy Storm, Moonflash Cat, and Weapon First Bug.
