Sweet Dasha Fire, a sorrel daughter of Walk Thru Fire campaigned by Valeriano Racing Stables LLC, earned her first stakes victory in Saturday's $137,000 PCQHRA Breeders' Derby (G2) at Los Alamitos.

Ridden by Cruz Mendez for trainer Jose Flores, Sweet Dasha Fire covered 400 yards in :19.831, and her winning margin was a half of a length from Jess Being A Friend. The filly banked $53,340 from her fourth win in 12 lifetime starts.

Sweet Dasha Fire was bred in Washington by S-Quarter K LLC. The filly is out of Dasha Freda, a graded stakes winning daughter of Mr Jess Perry, and she is a full sister to 2015 world champion Heza Dasha Fire. Sweet Dasha Fire's second dam, the Dash For Cash mare Fearless Freda, was a multiple graded stakes winner in 1996.

Raced exclusively at Los Alamitos, Sweet Dasha Fire has earned $159,065. The filly was a finalist in this year's Governor's Cup Derby (RG2) and Los Alamitos Oaks (G3), and last year's Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1).

Insider Information ran third, three-quarters of a length behind Sweet Dasha Fire. Sweet Tess, Corona Yo, Benevolent, Look Up, and Favorite Habit completed the order of finish.
