Champion Tempting Dash was euthanized on May 5, 2022, at the age of 15 as the result of a diaphragmatic hernia which is not treatable with surgery.

Bred by Muller Racing LLC of Mission Hills, Kansas, Tempting Dash was foaled in 2007 and is by all-time leading sire First Down Dash and out of the Chicks Beduino mare A Tempting Chick.

His official race record was brief but brilliant, as he won all four of his starts, including the trials and then the finals of the 2009 Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) and Texas Classic Futurity (G1). He earned $673,970, and then was named the year’s champion 2-year-old colt.

In 2013, the stallion was sold at public auction for a record $1.7 million, and he was syndicated in 2015. He was standing at Granada Farms at Wheelock, Texas.

His first small crop of foals hit the ground in 2011. In his first full crop in 2012 was Kiss My Hocks, a champion and earner of $1,199,385. From 10 crops to race, Tempting Dash has sired the earners of more than $13.1 million.

Other top runners include Aint She Tempting ($727,427), Hotsempting ($682,793) and Lovethewayyoulie ($456,472).

"A once-in-a lifetime kind of horse, that was Tempting Dash," Granada Farms manager Jimmy Eller said. "I am saddened by the loss of this great stallion in the prime of his life. The shock of his untimely passing will not only be felt by the syndicate members, but by the entire industry. He will be greatly missed."
