The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum will host the Texas Lakes Trail traveling exhibit featuring the historic Chisholm Trail opening February 6 and available through April 27.

The Texas Historical Commission recently celebrated the 150th anniversary of this historic trail, which took millions of longhorns north to railheads in Kansas. The money from the sale of the longhorns brought Texas out of the financial disaster following the Civil War.

Families will have a chance to explore the Chisholm Trail completely free through an immersive re-enactment and activities during Night at the Museum from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on April 27.

For more information about viewing hours or to arrange group visits, contact Museum Associate Director Nikki Silva at 806-376-5181.
