Ranching Heritage-bred horses continue to show their versatility, as 24 of them stepped into the pen at the 2016 AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan). AQHA is proud to recognize the Ranching Heritage-bred horses at the AQHA world championship shows. To honor these horses that represent Ranching Heritage Breeders who produce outstanding performers, AQHA awarded the Ranching Heritage-bred horse who placed the highest in competition at the Adequan® Select World with a special award. At the show’s conclusion, Ms King Forty Two was honored as the top Ranching Heritage-bred horse.

Ms King Forty Two is owned by Robert R. Salzbrenner of White Deer, Texas, and they finished third in the team penning, with their partners Mike Belter (riding JC Wood) and Terry Brooks (riding Absolutely Greyt). Salzbrenner and Ms King Forty Two received a custom-designed leather notebook from Award Recognition Concepts.

Ms King Forty Two is a 14-year-old palomino daughter of Cow Bo Country out of the Sir Duke Gibbs mare Dukes Summer Gold. She was bred by Fred and Elaine Gist of Midland, Texas. They own AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder Wagon Wheel Ranch Quarter Horses.

Salzbrenner rode the mare to a world championship in the same class in 2008, and a reserve world championship in the class 2009.
