Easy Blinkers, a homebred son of the Game Patriot stallion Dealagame owned by Pamela S. Stone and the second-fastest qualifier, earned his first stakes victory in Saturday's $110,000 Texas QHA Sires' Cup Futurity (RG3) at Retama Park.

Prepped by Angel Sanchez, Easy Blinkers covered 350 yards in :17.753, and his winning margin was a nose from even-money favorite Doc Hockaday. Eddie Sanchez rode the sorrel Texas-bred gelding.

Easy Blinkers is out of Wide Open Effort, a daughter of 1981 world champion Special Effort. Raced exclusively at Retama Park, the gelding has won two of three starts and has earned $46,445.

Canelo Alvarez finished third, three-quarters of a length behind Easy Blinkers, and was followed by Miss Tres First Down, Medicci, The Modelito Cartel, Racey T L C, A Tres Of A Lady, and Dash N Sexy. Fastest qualifier DM First Talent was scratched.
