David Alvarez rode Hezaa Fast Boy to a half-length win in Friday's $60,000 Vals Fortune/Teddy Abrams Jr. Stakes (RG2) for Louisiana-breds at Delta Downs.

Prepped by Jesus M. Marquez for owner Rogelio Marquez Jr., Hezaa Fast Boy covered 400 yards on a sloppy and sealed track in :19.586. The 5-year-old son of Heza Fast Dash earned $36,000 from his first stakes victory.

Hezaa Fast Boy was bred  by Simmons Racing, and the bay gelding was purchased by Rogelio Marquez Jr. for $50,000 at the 2018 Louisiana QHBA Sale. He has won four of 13 starts -- including three of his last four -- and he has banked $87,500, of which $61,000 has been pocketed from three outs this year.

Hezaa Fast Boy was coming off of a second-place finish, a head behind winner Shott Gun, in the June 4, 400-yard Miss Polly Classic Stakes (G2) at Delta Downs.

JJ Heza Fast Dash Jr ran second and was followed by El Camino CL, Lett It Happen, A Double Corona, Dashing Jess Cuervo, Tee Zo, JM Friday, Dianetoseparatefromu, and Get It Done Babe.
