Wyoming Downs in Evanston, Wyoming, opened its 2019 meet on July 6, and will offer live racing through August 18.

The racetrack had throngs of fans out during the races, and one of the highlights was “Pink Out Day at the Races” on Sunday, which celebrated cancer survivors. Everyone was encouraged to wear pink, with “Raysha’s Race for Filly and Mares” the featured race.

The $8,500 test was won by Miguel Zavala’s Giorgina, a 5-year-old daughter of Giorgino out of Miss Flying Jessie by Fly Jess Fly. The mare was ridden by Jose Figueroa and trained by Adrian Zavala.

The weekend was covered by local Fox 13 out of Salt Lake City, which can be found here.
