The American Quarter Horse Foundation will award a $1,000 educational scholarship to an eligible AQHYA member competing at the 2021 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show. Applications are due July 1.

The Foundation is committed to helping the dreams of our youth come true by making higher education more affordable and accessible through scholarships. Today’s youth are the future leaders of our industry. The Youth Activities Scholarship will be awarded to an eligible AQHYA member competing at the 2021 Ford Youth World.

Who is eligible?

  • AQHYA members in good standing and in their final year of youth eligibility; and

  • Compete in at least one Level 3 or Level 2 championship class or compete in a designated AQHYA competition at the 2021 Ford Youth World or Adequan AQHA Level 2 Youth Championships; and

  • Submit a completed application with support material by July 1.

The eligible award recipient will be determined by a committee based on their application and their successful participation at the 2021 Ford Youth World. Although competition at the show is an eligibility requirement for this award, placings will not be considered when selecting the scholarship recipient. The inaugural $1,000 scholarship was presented to Megan Newlon of Kansas at the 2020 Ford Youth World.

Applications are now available through the Foundation at aqhfoundation.smapply.io.
