At the Brazilian Haras Santo Angela Sale held the weekend of May 19-20 at the Sorocaba Jockey Club, 49 horses were sold at an average price of $35,000 U.S.
The sale’s high seller was Jirau Gold, a colt by Gold Medal Jess out of the Blazen Bryan mare Can Can Bryan. He sold for R$256,000, or about $178,000 U.S. He was consigned by Gianni Franco Samaja and purchased by Haras Primavera.
The sale also sold 71 southern hemisphere breedings to champion Good Reason SA at $5,000 each. The 5-year-old Favorite Trick (TB) stallion is standing his first season at Royal Vista Ranches at Wayne, Oklahoma, and will be shipped to Brazil at its conclusion.
