Hialeah Stakes Payments Due Sept. 17

Florida track to offer purses of $120,000 per day.

The first sustaining payment deadline to the $100,000-added Hialeah Lassie and Laddie Futurities, the $100,000-added Hialeah Derby and $50,000-added FQHRA Stallion Stakes Futurity (R) are due today Saturday, September 15th.

Because the track has a 48-hour grace period, sustaining payments must be postmarked no later than Monday, September 17, with no exceptions. Entries to date taken for the Lassie and Laddie Futurities, Hialeah Derby and FQHRA Stallion Stakes can be found at www.fqhra.com/stakesentrylists.html.

September 15 is also the initial nomination payment deadline for the February 2013 $30,000-added Sunshine State Derby (R) for accredited Florida-breds and the February 2013 $100,000 added South Florida Derby. Entry forms can be downloaded by clicking here.

Entries to these stakes must also be postmarked no later than Monday September 17, with no exceptions.

Stakes purses at the South Florida racetrack are expected to be comparable to last year. The 2011 Hialeah Laddie Futurity purse was near $225,000 and all the other open stakes were worth nearly $200,000.

Two-year-olds by As Good As Nick Gets, Contend, Cowboys Rodeo, First Down Straw, First Place Texas, Furrtreeous, Georgia Halo, Gridiron, Hadtobenuts, Hiclass La Jolla, Ivory James, Jumpn Chic, Lead The Field, Moon Shake, Newarco, Oak Tree Special, Papa Larry, Prime Talent, Prime Time Dream, Saint Schackleton, Sixy Royal King, Special Crown Royal, Strong Hope, Sweep The Leg Johnny, TRS Renegade Dash, Zoomin For Bux are all eligible for the 2012 FQHRA Stallion Stakes Futurity. Last year’s futurity was worth over $95,000.

The Hialeah stable area opens December 1 and the first day of racing is December 15. There will be 30 days of racing with purses averaging $120,000 per day.

The 2013/2014 meet will see 40 days of racing and purses averaging $140,000 per day.
