Remington to Celebrate 25th Anniversary

Oklahoma City track schedules long list of promotions for American Quarter Horse meet.

The prestigious American Quarter Horse & Mixed-Breed Season at Remington Park begins March 8 with opening weekend featuring top-flight racing and big-cash opportunities for patrons. The first three days of action will begin Remington Park’s 25th Anniversary celebration which continues throughout the year.

The opening weekend, March 8-10, will offer fans Quarters for Quarters, Superscreen Select 7, Sunday Silver Wagering Sprees and a Sunday Caps for Cash Giveaway. On the track, important trials will be conducted to determine the stakes finalists for multiple events including the historic Oklahoma Futurity (G2) later in the month.

Quarters for Quarters
Friday night, March 8, guests may enter the drawing in the racing entrance lobby beginning at 5 p.m. Fans will be selected throughout the racing program to choose a prize bag containing at least 25 rolls of quarters ($250)!

Super Select 7
Saturday night, March 9, fans can enter to take part in the Super Select 7 beginning at 5 p.m. in the racing entrance lobby. Fans will be called to the winner’s circle to choose one of the Super Select 7 logos on the Coors Light Superscreen, winning cash prizes.

25th Anniversary Caps for Cash
Sunday, March 10, the first 2,500 fans through the racing entrance lobby, starting at noon, receive a collectible 25th anniversary cap. Fans are encouraged to wear the cap to Remington Park on all Sundays throughout the Quarter Horse season, receiving $5 in racing free play!

Sunday Silver Wagering Sprees
Sunday, March 10, will also debut the Sunday Wagering Sprees. A total of three wagering sprees will be conducted, allowing guests 30 seconds to make as many $2 straight wagers as they can. Remington Park pays for the wagers and guests keep their winnings and may get to draw a multiplier to increase the score!

Guests can enter the wagering spree drawing starting at noon in the racing entrance lobby.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9, with Sunday afternoon racing at 1:30 p.m. Friday night will feature trials for the Oklahoma Paint Futurity and the Speedhorse Graham Paint/Appaloosa Derby. Saturday racing is headlined by a program of trials for the Oklahoma Futurity, run every year since 1947. Sunday’s card has trials for the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Derby.

Returning with a twist this year is the weekly Friday evening chat events with the pros and fans from Retooled, Friday Night School Live at Remington Park is an extension of the popular Night School session with that takes place on Tuesdays. The Friday Night School Live online sessions will begin at 5:30 p.m. central.

The RP High-Q Test will begin on March 16. The popular and free online handicapping contest will offer a $5,000 grand prize. Visit for complete rules and how to play and win.

The Quarter Horse Season will also include other big event days such as: St. Patrick’s Day (March 17); Remington Park Futurity (April 20); Extreme Racing Day (April 28) featuring camel, ostrich and zebra racing; Kentucky Derby simulcast day and hat contest (May 4); Oklahoma Speedfest (May 26); Memorial Day (May 27) and $1,000,000 Heritage Place Futurity & Remington Park Championship Night (June 1).

The American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season runs from March 8 and continues through June 2. Normal post time on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays is 6 p.m. with Sunday afternoon racing offered at 1:30 p.m.
