Double Eagle Ranch and Buena Suerte Ranch’s champion Time For A Cigar makes his first start in more than a year when he faces a deep field over 350 yards in the $50,000 KOFX-Radio Handicap (G3) on Sunday afternoon at Sunland Park.

Time For A Cigar (Corona Cartel-Time For A Goddess by Timeto Thinkrich) has not started since running a lackluster ninth in the 2011 running of the Championship at Sunland Park (G1), more than 12 months ago. A champion at 3, the 7-year-old Time For A Cigar has displayed class throughout his 22-race career. The winner of the 2009 Ruidoso Derby (G1), he won the Mr Jet Moore Handicap (G3) and Bank of America Turf Paradise Championship Challenge (G3) in 2011 and finished just a neck behind multiple champion Noconi in the All American Gold Cup (G2) that year.

Valle Guardiana Corp.’s Tres Seis Nueve (Tres Seis-Ya Ya Sisterhood by Chicks Beduino) has been on the board in six of his seven starts since running a close fourth behind champion Ochoa in the Rainbow Derby (G1). The Juan Gonzalez-trained colt was second by a neck in the Sunland Winter Derby (G2) on December 29.

Letica Jaquez’s A Spring Snow (This Snow Is Royal-Lexines Legacy by Special Effort) finds class relief after finishing off the board in two Grade 1 stakes. The Abraham Jaquez-trained veteran gelding won the OB Cockerill Handicap last summer at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Corona For You (Corona For Me-My First Twist by First Down Dash), One Diamond Kitty (Genuine Strawfly-One Diamond Cat by Now I Know), Teller More Bourbon (Teller Cartel-Bourbonstreetchick by Chicks Beduino), Jess Cuervo (Corona Cartel-Jessica Ravin by Mr Jess Perry) and KR Dragonfly (Separtist-Dreamers Wild Child by Sixarun) each have stakes experience and come off an allowance win.
