April 26, 2012

The Anireal Chavira-owned and -trained Eyesa Western comes off a win in the Swift Stakes to face the quickest horses at Delta Downs in the $20,000 Delta Dash over 250 yards on Saturday night.

Eyesa Western (Eyesa Special-Western Debt by Chicks Beduino) is a short-distance specialist with three wins, a second and three thirds at 250 yards. Two starts ago, the 7-year-old gelding was second by a neck in the 250-yard Harrah’s Dash at Louisiana Downs. He came back in the 350-yard Swift Stakes at Louisiana Downs to win by a neck over the highly regarded Charal Kid.

Rene Amaro’s Coup De Dasher (Some Dasher-Minnie Coup De Dash by Pritzi Dash) won the 220-yard Evangeline Downs Dash in 2010 and appears ready for another noteworthy stakes effort. The Javier Noel Contreras-trained stallion won a 250-yard allowance race at Louisiana Downs in his latest race when he got up to beat Blue Rare Bear by a head. Two starts ago, he was second by a neck at 250 yards.

The Henry Padgett-owned and -trained She Is A Fast Dash (Heza Fast Dash-Style N Grace by Fishers Dash) should be dangerous after winning the Harrah’s Distaff in January and the Party Girl Stakes (R) in February against females. This is her first out at 250 yards, however she won an optional-claiming race at 220 yards back in December.
