Fastest qualifier and 9-5 favorite Heza Fast Invictus scored a dominating 1 1/4-length victory in Saturday’s $105,250 Iowa Double Gold Futurity (R) at Prairie Meadows in Iowa. Ridden by Agustin Silva for trainer Kasey Willis and owners Shalia and Marty Powers, the gelding by Mighty Invictus dashed 350 yards in :17.465.

Bred in Oklahoma by John Paul and Lois Gee, Heza Fast Invictus is now undefeated in three starts after breaking his maiden at Canterbury Park and then closing fast to win his Double Gold trial. His earnings now stand at $50,230.

Gene Cox’s homebred Best On The Planet, an Oklahoma-bred gelding by Best Advice, took second with another Oklahoma-bred, the No Secrets Here filly Secretive Jess, in third for breeder and owner Donald Friesen.
