J. Hales and C. and R. Singletary’s Tres Of Linda looks for her third 2013 stakes win when she heads the $25,000 Miss Princess Handicap for fillies and mares over 350 yards on Sunday night at Los Alamitos.

Tres Of Linda (Tres Seis-Lindas Dasher by Chicks Beduino) raced to the most important win of her 13-race career when she won the $100,000 Charger Bar Handicap (G2) in her first 2013 start. Sent off as a nearly 10-1 outsider, she battled with Thisfeatureisspecial and prevailed by a nose with a :19.770 time for the 400 yards. After being fractious and finishing off the board in her Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1) trial, she rebounded with class relief when she won the $15,000 Garden Grove Handicap, her latest out on March 3, by a neck for trainer Scott Willoughby.

Steve Burns’ homebred Attack The Cartel (Corona Cartel-Separate Tac by Separatist) was second in the Garden Grove Handicap behind Tres Of Linda and returned to dominate the Native Empress Handicap for trainer Michael Casselman. She opened up a daylight lead in the Native Empress and then rolled to a 1 1/4-length win with a :17.458 time for the 350 yards.

Lorena Velazquez Rodriguez’s Check N Fetch (Check Him Out-Shyann La Jolla by Streakin La Jolla) is improving against stakes company after winning an allowance race on February 10. The Paul Jones-trained mare was a troubled fifth as the 6-5 favorite in the Garden Grove and then was bumped on both sides in the Native Empress before racing to a second-place finish behind Attack The Cartel.
