Families and friends gathered October 29 at the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum for a dinner honoring Legacy breeders and 50-year cumulative breeders.
The honorees and their families enjoyed a tour of AQHA headquarters in Amarillo, where many were able to meet in person AQHA employees whom they have spoken on the phone with for years while handling their registration paperwork.
A reception followed at the Hall of Fame among the America's Horse in Art exhibits, then a dinner, where they received a trophy from AQHA President Johne Dobbs of Champaign, Illinois, who welcomed the group as the backbone of the Quarter Horse industry and invited them to say a few words.
Many of the honored breeders brought along their children and grandchildren who are following them as breeders.
For more about the breeders and their life’s work, see the January issue of The American Quarter Horse Journal.
