Longtime Adequan Select World Championship Show exhibitor and multiple world champion Daryl Lankin of Aubrey, Texas, added another trophy to her collection August 28 at the 2013 show in Amarillo with a very special filly.
BPF Glamour Girl, a 2013 sorrel mare owned by new business partner Steve Robinson of Aubrey, Texas, outshined the 17-head Select weanling fillies class for the world championship.
“She’s really special,” Daryl said. “She’s by Telasecret, our young N/N stud that we’re really trying to promote. She’s owned by Steve Robinson. We’re real proud to have a baby by Telasecret win the Select World the first time out.”
Steve bred the filly and owns Telasecret in partnership with 30-year-breeder Clark Rassi of Aubrey. Clark earned fourth in the weanling fillies class with BPF Unforgetable, also owned by Steve and also by Telasecret.
The three believe strongly in the Telasecret bloodlines.
“He’s by The Top Secret and out of a mare called Teloquence who’s by Telusive,” Daryl said. “That cross has been a magic cross for us.
“Shez Not Guilty is a wonderful mare who caught Clark’s eye at the (All American Quarter Horse) Congress one year,” she continued. “We went and bought her, and this is her first baby.”
The partnership of Clark, Daryl and Steve plans to keep showing and working hard with AQHA Professional Horseman Ross Roark.
“We want to sell the babies and get more people out there showing them,” she said.
This filly might make an appearance at the 2013 AQHA World Championship Show in November with Ross.
Daryl had several horses to show at this year’s Adequan Select World and looks forward to next year.
“I like (the Adequan Select World) because there’s a real good atmosphere,” she said. “It’s relaxed. Everybody wants to have fun and get along. Everyone’s excited."
