USA Reining

USA Reining will be held concurrently with the FEI CRI competition and AQHA senior reining preliminaries at the 2013 AQHA World Championship Show.

The world’s top reining horses and their riders will be running, spinning and sliding their way to some major titles on November 15 at Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.

The 2013 AQHA World Championship Show will host the AQHA senior reining preliminaries in conjunction with a USA Reining class and an International Equestrian Federation Concours de Reining International competition.

The riders meeting for the CRI and USA Reining classes will begin at 8:30 a.m. on November 14 in the CRI stable area, followed by the jog inspection at 10 a.m. View the chef d'equipe agenda for the meeting and inspection. The classes are set to begin at 9 a.m. on November 15 in the Performance Arena (Barn 6).

USA Reining competition is organized into the following divisions: youth 13-&-under, youth 14-18, youth 19-21, amateur and open.

Operating under the structure of the United States Equestrian Federation, USA Reining works to provide an access point for interested reining fans and athletes through the works of education, promotion and development of the sport of reining in the United States.

Concour de Reining Internationale 

The 2013 AQHA World Show will host an International Equestrian Federation CRI1*, CRI2* and CRI3* (Concours de Reining International) event on November 15 at Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. AQHA and the National Reining Horse Association are jointly funding the $3,000 prize money for the CRI 3*, with awards offered in the 1* and 2*.

Entries for the CRI event are due Friday, November 8, and the cost to enter is $325. The CRI competition will take place in conjunction with the senior reining preliminaries and USA Reining class in the Performance Arena (Barn 6). Part of the USEF open qualifying series, USEF Long-List Riders are required to show at two CRI qualifying shows between January 1, 2013, until the U.S. selection trial for the 2014 World Equestrian Games (or in the case of international riders, until the nominated entry deadline for the 2014 WEG). Riders must meet minimum eligibility requirements, including a three-star status athlete to compete at the WEG.

The AQHA World Championship Show, comprising the Bank of America Amateur and AQHA Open divisions, is the largest single-breed championship horse show in the world. The exciting competition begins Friday, November 8, and continues through Saturday, November 23, at Oklahoma State Fair Park.
