About the Show

The 2024 American Quarter Horse Association Cowboy Mounted Shooting World Championships will be held in Amarillo in conjunction with the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association World Championship, October 8-12 at the Tri-State Expo Center & Fairgrounds.

Qualification for the AQHA CMS World has been waived, simply enter into your AQHA World Championship Show class and be a current member of AQHA and CMSA.

Exhibitors at the AQHA CMS World will compete in these divisions:

• Youth

• Limited youth

• Select

• Amateur

• Limited select amateur

• Open

AQHA recognizes the top AQHA cowboy mounted shooting competitors in conjunction with the CMSA World each year. Exhibitors race against the clock as they run horseback through a pattern of 10 balloons and at least one barrel. The competitor to complete the pattern with the fastest time and most balloons shot takes home the AQHA world champion title.
