Growing up in the rolling North Dakota countryside surrounded by her family’s many American Quarter Horses, Brittany Tangen spent her childhood incessantly drawing and studying these majestic creatures who quickly forged the cornerstone of her artistic pursuits. Even though Brittany went on to become a chiropractor, she never abandoned her drawing skills or her love of horses.

After the birth of her daughter, Brittany found herself in a unique situation to once again explore her creativity by taking on commissioned equine, pet and figurative portraits. Her highly-detailed, representational work has since won numerous awards and has found its way into private collections all over the world.

Brittany currently resides in rural Iowa (where there are unfortunately more pigs than horses) with her husband, Jon, and their daughter, Briar. She is grateful to be making meaningful artwork each and every day that tells a story and brings joy to others.
