Deborah R. Lyn, of Amarillo, Texas, began painting in watercolor when her children were young and eventually migrated to oils. She has been painting for 20 plus years and has been fortunate enough to study with Jack Sorenson of Amarillo.

Deborah’s subject matter is mostly western influenced by her introduction of horses on her grandparent’s ranch and learning to ride at an early age. Loving horses and the American West, Deborah is naturally drawn to painting the American Quarter Horse, the horse, ranch settings or as her friends or grandkids ride.  When plein air painting, she loves the variety and challenges of Palo Duro Canyon where there is unfolding beauty everywhere you look.
