AQHYA Officer and Director Candidates
2020-2021 AQHYA Leadership Team Candidates to be announced in June 2020.
Delaney of Omaha, Nebraska, is currently serving her second term as Region 2 AQHYA director. The recent high school graduate is running for another director term, as well as a position on the national officer team. She has served on various committees and has previously served as vice president for her affiliate. This year, Delaney would like to build off of her previous platform of educating members. She would like to focus on appreciation for the current AQHA members who have helped build AQHYA into what it is today.
Justin of Rocheport, Missouri, is currently serving as Region 3 director, and is looking to serve a third term, as well as run for a position on the AQHYA officer team. He has served as president of his affiliate, and in other affiliate positions. He would like to continue to focus on developing a deeper engagement of members in the Association. He would like to see social media used as a tool to inform all members of everything AQHYA has to offer. Justin hopes to focus on growing attendance at YES. He also believes that in order to engage members, the officers and directors need to be more engaged themselves.
Claire of McAllen, Texas, is a current Region 8 director. The high school junior is running for her second term as Region 8 director and AQHYA officer. She is currently serving as the Texas Quarter Horse Association president and has previously held other positions. Her main goal is to continue to promote “non-horse” contests, such as the National Racing Experience and Young Horse Development Program. She believes that these programs will help overcome the challenge of gaining more members.
Sierra of Hydro, Oklahoma, is an AQHYA executive member on the AQHYA Executive Committee. She is seeking to run for AQHYA Officer and President. Her goal is to inform all youth of the networking, showing and educational benefits of AQHYA. She would also like to continue working to increase membership by working with other organizations such as 4-H and IEA to inform non-members of the benefits AQHYA has to offer.
