America's Horse in Art Sale

Find that perfect piece of horse-related artwork to put on your wall at the America's Horse in Art Sale.

The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum in Amarillo is hosting the second annual America’s Horse in Art: The Horse That Settled the West Show and Sale August 14 through November 14.

The exhibit and sale will be showcased in the Scharbauer Gallery in the museum. The nearly 25 featured artists include Greg Kelsey, Mark Kohler, Bruce Graham, Teal Blake, Mehl Lawson and Mikel Donahue, who created the headliner art for this year’s event. (See the complete list of artists below.)

Each piece of art – ranging from pencil drawings to sculptures – will have a price tag and was sold by draw on the opening night. The remaining pieces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Check the Web site to see if your favorite piece is still for sale.

Art sales also will be available by telephone at (806) 376-5181 and by e-mail at artshow@aqha.org. The purchased artwork will remain on exhibit through November 14.

Proceeds from the sale of the art will go to the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame to support its efforts to preserve the history of the American Quarter Horse, but due to IRS regulations, the art is not tax-deductible. The signature piece, which has been sold, can be viewed online. The complete collection is available online.
