Full Moon Desire, a daughter of the Apollitical Jess stallion Chilitos owned by Leviram Racing LLC and trained by Dimas Sanchez, is the fastest qualifier to the May 17, $121,082 John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge (G3).

Making his official career debut in the second of seven 350-yard trials at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, Full Moon Desire defeated seventh-fastest qualifier Bolt To An Eagle by a clear 2 3/4 lengths while tripping the electronic timer in :17.821. Victor Urieta Jr. rode the sorrel filly.

Full Moon Desire was bred in Texas by Juan M. Lozano Jr. and Jairo Lozano. An $11,000 purchase at last year's TQHA Yearling Sale in San Antonio, the filly is out of Mystical Desire, a homebred winning daughter of the Strawfly Special stallion Desirio.

The winner of the final will earn a berth in this year's Grade 2 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship at Albuquerque Downs.
