Adult or Tour Bus Groups
We offer a brief welcome orientation when guests arrive. Guests can explore the Museum at their own pace. Please make group reservations at least two weeks prior to your arrival by contacting the Hall of Fame at 806-376-5181 or museum@aqha.org. The following rates are per person for groups of 10 or more:

- Children (6-18): $3
- Children (5 & under): Free
- Escorts: Free*
- Drivers: Free*

Everything we learn doesn’t have to be taught straight from a textbook or only in the classroom; bring it to life in a museum! The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum invites you to come learn about the horse that settled the West! A trip to the Museum brings stories to life. This guide will help prepare educators of public, private and home schools for an exciting, guided field trip.
The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum offers guided tours for school groups according to the following guidelines:
- When: Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (excluding holiday hours)

Reservations: School group reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance please contact the Museum at 806-376-5181 to schedule your visit.

Cancelations: The museum must be informed of a cancelation 48 hours in advance.

Time: 1 – 1.5 hours for group of 65 or less

$5 per student (6-18 years old)

Teachers and required supervising adults (one adult per 10 students) are admitted free.

Additional adults and children pay regular museum admission fees.

Kindergarten to 1st Grade: Saddle Up with Horse Care Basics

Students will prep their mop pony for a trail ride through the Grand Hall of the museum. Before they can hit the trail, they learn the basic needs all creators need to live such as food, water, shelter, and space in the Grand Hall. The students learn that their horses have these basic needs if they are to have a healthy horse to enjoy. This program is designed to accommodate 65*** children at a time.

2nd to 5th Grade: Pieces of a Partnership

Students will embark on a hands-on journey to discover what it takes to build a meaningful and unique connection with horses. Through engaging activities, students will explore the essential elements that form strong bonds with not only horses but also friends. Using their teamwork, students will work together to assemble a large, 24- or 32-piece polygon puzzle (8’x 8’). Can accommodate up to 40 students. ***

2nd to 12th Grade: Branding Roundup

As the country expanded west, so did the cattle industry and the role of the American Quarter Horse. The students will learn history, function of cattle drives and branding in the 1800’s. They will then use this information to create their own imaginary ranch and brand. Students will be given a brief explanation of the purpose of branding and its importance to bringing cattle to market. They will be given time to explore the timeline exhibit to look for items to inspire their own imaginary ranch brand. Students can take pictures on smart phones or tablets to help explain to the group what motivated their brand design. Can accommodate up to 80 students***
