Imagine your students’ touching artifacts from our museum, learning about their history and labeling an item as if it were on display at a museum–a learning experience that could shape their career or next museum experience. The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum now offers a new Traveling Discovery Box program–a field trip in a box that comes straight to your school. This program has been fully evaluated and is fun and educational while meeting curriculum standards.

If you are not a horse person, no worries!  The Traveling Discovery Box captures other skills that build character values for your students. We provide boxes geared toward three grade ranges: kindergarten and first grade, second through ninth.

This program features opportunities for students to:

  • Handle real artifacts and high-quality replicas.

  • Develop thinking skills and core values: problem solving, curiosity, observation, empathy, responsibility, character, respect, teamwork.

  • Acquire new knowledge, understanding and skills.

  • Enjoy, become inspired and creative.

  • Create positive perceptions of and attitudes towards museums.

  • Participate actively as citizens while developing social skills outside of the school environment.
