Donalda M. Cochrane's Papas Coleen, a homebred daughter of the Oak Tree Special stallion First Timber, is the fastest qualifier to the July 28, $25,000 Adequan Grande Prairie Derby Challenge Stakes at Evergreen Park.

Ridden by Trevor Simpson for trainer Darcy Hawkes, Papas Coleen on Sunday won the first of two 400-yard trials by a half of a length in :20.651. The filly was winning for the third time in seven outs, all in Alberta, and pushing her bankroll to $12,490.

Papas Coleen was making her first start since October 21, when she ran third in the Canada Cup Futurity (RG3) at Century Downs.
